Since 1970, Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing has been committed to the "soul" of skiing.  We are also committed to integrating research and training into every aspect of our operation, from safe travel in the mountains to professional service within every department of the resort.

"Wiegele World" is located in the heart of the Cariboos and Monashees, two massive mountain ranges divided by the long and narrow Thompson Valley.

We are located in on e of the worlds largest and most consistent snow belts. As a result, from November until May the powder is unmatched anywhere. Add to this, the variation of ski-able routes; from the high alpine glacier down to the forested valley floor and the splendor, excitement and freedom of free skiing with your ski guide and helicopter.

Our extensive skiing area encompasses over 1700 square miles and has over 1,000 peaks and runs.

At MWHS, we are proud to offer a professional ski guiding service consisting of individuals who have made a commitment to ski guiding as their careers and livelihoods. All our guides have received professional certification through formal education and training. Our guides are chosen for their ability to provide you with an exciting, memorable ski vacation while caring for your safety and comfort at all times. Most of our senior guides have been with our operation for more than 10 years.


We have made a strong commitment to safety, research, education, training, and certification and we will continue this trend into the future.

Our Ski Guides are your hosts for your weeklong stay at the Resort. They will meet you when you arrive, take you to your accommodations and familiarize you with our facilities. They will also introduce you to other guests and to our other staff, brief you about the week's events and outline the skiing activities. This will include hazard awareness and safety briefings, as well as orientation. They will take you to the pro ski shop to get you set up and help you with all your skiing needs.

Every ski week is an instructional week. Whether you are a first timer or an expert powder skier, our guides will assist you in attaining a higher level of skill. For first time heli-skiers and intermediate skiers we will make every effort to ensure that you are skiing safely and comfortably.

Since 1970 our carriers have been providing safe and precise helicopter lifts to mountaintops and meadows throughout the Cariboo and Monashee ranges.
Vancouver Island Helicopters (VIH) is our exclusive provider of aircrafts. Recently celebrating their 51st year of operation, they produce rigorous maintenance standards and a team of highly experienced and trained engineers. It is the exclusive provider of the Twin Engine Bell 212 Helicopter, the Bell 407 and the Single Engine Eurocopter A-Star 350-B2.
